Murang’a Water and Sanitation Company Limited (MUWASCO) is an
agent of Tana Water Services Board established under the water Act 2002 for
provision of efficient, reliable and economical water and sewerage services in
Murang’a Municipality and its environs.
1. Technical Services Manager
Ref: TSM/01/12
Key responsibilities
- Reporting
directly to the Managing Director.
- Planning,
designing and implementation of water projects.
- Reviewing and
developing production plans and strategies and establishing performance
standards
- Training water
production personnel on new policies, procedures and strategies
- Directing,
coordinating, controlling and managing the Company’s operations and
maintenance of infrastructure to ensure that water and sewerage services
are focused to meet customer needs
- Developing
long-term departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate
achievement of overall Company objectives
- Supervising,
appraising staff and identifying their training and development needs
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor of
Science degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized university
- Registered by
the Engineers Registration board
- Have at least 5
years experience preferably in water utility 3 of which should be in a
senior management position
- The candidate
should have a good demonstration of project management skills with
adequate experience in operation and maintenance
- Highly developed
computer skills
- The candidate
should be people oriented and have demonstrated leadership qualities with
high ambitions for achievement.
2. Surveyor / GIS Expert
Ref: SVY/02/12
Key responsibilities
- Collect field
data, by use of a total station, download data to a form that can be used
for plotting maps, and establishment of area
- Plot field data
using CAD/survey software
- Verify the
accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted
at survey sites
- Search legal
records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information
about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed
- Make
topographical surveys
- Mapping of the
water supply area using GIS
- Operating and
maintaining the GIS system
- Training staff
on use of GIS system
- Design work on
new project areas
The ideal candidate should have:
- First degree/HND
in Surveying and Photogrammetry
- Working
knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to use
Mapinfo and GIS software and other surveying tools (knowledge of standard
land survey software’s will be an added advantage)
- Ability to use a
total station in surveying works
- Post
qualification experience of at least three years.
Applicants who are conversant with water sector reforms will
have an added advantage.
