Transmara Sugar Company is an upcoming sugar factory .
The factory is situated at Enoosean within Transmara
District.
The factory is one of its kind, with “state of the art”
technology.
This is an immediate requirement.
1. Transport and Logistics Manager
Role: Ensure efficiency and effective transport
services/logistics and delivery of cane logistical and management of the
workshop and road network to achieve company transport and logistical
objectives.
Tasks
- To
ensure sufficient quantity of fresh cane is transported to the factory for
crushing as per the set target..
- Work
closely with roads engineer to ensure roads are accessible.
- Develop
standards for best loading and transportation practices.
- Formulate
strategies to reduce fuel pilferages.
Academic Qualifications
- Bsc
in agriculture engineering mechanical or equivalent.
- Diploma
in transport management with 10 years experience with a medium/large fleet
preferably in agriculture environment.
- Managerial,
leadership skills, public relations, logistics and planning
- Computer
skills.
2. Transport and Logistics Superintendant
Role: Coordinate transport allocation and control of transport
facilities.
Tasks
- He/she
is the principal assistant to the transport logistics manager and will
assist the duties enlisted above other duties.
- Ensure
harvested cane is transported for milling within the given timeframe
Academic Qualifications
- Diploma
in transport management
- Communication,
managerial, technical and logistical ability.
- Over
5 years experience in agricultural industry with adequate fleet in
agriculture or equipments.
3. Transport and Logistics Supervisors
Role: To coordinate and provide logistical support
both at the desk and field.
Tasks
- Establishment
of fleet availability to ensure cane is delivered within 2 days.
- Determine
and regulate fuel balances and standard rates/k • Ensure tractors
load adequately and good practises are in place and delivered in the
sequence of harvest
- Ensure
field clerks are on site and collect cane and farmer’s records are
correctly posted.
Academic Qualifications
- Diploma
in transport management or business administration.
- Over
3 years experience in supervisory capacity in a fleet management
environment, preferably in an agricultural set up
7. Workshop Shift Superintendant
Role: To inspect, diagnose and repair machines and
avail them for use with minimal turn around time and as
minimal cost.

Academic Qualifications
- Diploma
in mechanical/electrical automotive or final proficiency in craft
certificate.
- Supervisory
skills and other managerial exposure/techniques.

minimum of 5years experience in a busy fleet/heavy machinery experience.
8. Human Resource Officer
Role: principle assistant to the human resource
manager who will ensure provision of quality personnel
services and maintenance of accurate personnel records.

Tasks
- Handling
grievances and discipline
- Ensure
compliance to statutory regulations in respect to employment and employee
welfare
- Administer
medical scheme NHIF, NSSF and other administrative responsibilities.
- Maintenance
of accurate personnel records, in particular employees attendance.
- Handle,
prepare and process employee salaries and other payments in liaison with
payroll accountant
- Assist
in recruitment and selection process, implement and administer established
schemes.
Academic Qualification
- Degree
in social science or business administration.
- Diploma
in Human Resource Management
- 5
years experience in a busy professional environment preferably in an
agricultural environment, FMCG knowledge in payroll preparation in a
biometric environment and ERP will be an added advantage
- Good
communication skills and interpersonal.
8. Cane Superintendant
The ideal candidate will be deployed in the out growers region
to draw up specific agricultural programmes,
monitoring and controlling the quality of agricultural operations.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shall
be in charge of staff under the cane department.
- Ensure
the achievement of budgeted cane area.
- Ensure
the supply of budgeted cane.
- Organize
training of staff and farmers on cane husbandry.
- Shall
ensure the required cane is availed to the factory.
- Be
a link between the research division and the farmer to disseminate new
techniques in cane husbandry.
- Shall
advise the management on day to day problems that may affect the
availability of cane
- Shall
maintain proper cane position on a monthly basis from the respective area
of work.
Qualifications
- A
degree in general agriculture, or sugar technology.
- Over
8 years experience in agriculture set up preferably in Sugar Industry, 3
of which one must have served in a similar position or senior managerial
position in agriculture department.
- Demonstrate
merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result.
- Hands
on person and self driven.
- Knowledge
in IT and communication skills is essential to this position.
