The Insurance Regulatory Authority
is a state Corporation set up to regulate, supervise and develop the insurance
sector in Kenya.
The Authority is seeking
applications for the following vacant position:
Senior
Compliance Officers
(4 Positions)
Responsible to the Manager,
Technical for ensuring prudential supervision of the licensed members of the
insurance industry in accordance with the provisions of the Insurance Act Cap
487 and other regulatory requirements and procedures adopted by the Authority.
The successful candidate will be
responsible for the supervision of a team charged with the responsibilities of
carrying out the under listed functions.
Core
Duties and Responsibilities
·
Responsible for the development of risk profiles for the various
players in the insurance industry.
·
Determine the supervisory strategies and work plan required for
each licensed entity based on the individual risk profile.
·
Continuously monitor, evaluate and report periodically on the
risk status of each licensee in line with the supervisory framework.
·
Review, evaluate and grant approval to various programs and
requests from insurance players as per requirements of the insurance Act.
·
Conduct on-site and offsite supervision for the licensed
entities.
·
Provide advisory services to stakeholders and the general public
on matters pertaining to insurance, re-insurance and intermediaries’ regulations.
Responsible for the analysis and
returns from all persons licensed to carry out insurance business.
Minimum
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (insurance or accounting option),
Economics, or a related field.
·
Be in possession of professional qualifications such as ACII,
CFA, CPA, or equivalent.
·
Minimum of 8 years experience in Insurance business, 3 years of
which must be in a senior position.
·
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·
High level proficiency in the use of MS office suite.
