The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank

of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) economic
arrangements.
The Bank’s objective is to provide short and medium term finance
to support viable projects and trade finance activities in member states.

Director, Compliance and Risk Management
Job Summary:
- As
champion of the Bank’s Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM) framework,
the Director shall facilitate the execution of the ERM process and
infrastructure.
- He
also assesses risk and recommends appropriate mitigating measures on
various areas of risk.
- The
Director shall support the Board of Directors and the Board Audit
Committee, the President/CEO, Management Committee, Business and Support
departments in the efficient and effective management of the Bank’s ERM
framework in line with best practices.
Job Specifications:
- Masters’
degree in Economics, Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or
related fields. Candidates with recognized professional qualifications in
banking, accounting, finance and certified compliance and risk
accreditations shall have an added advantage.
- A
minimum of 8-10 years of progressive management experience, in banking,
treasury management, accounting/finance, audit and compliance and risk
management. Candidates with development finance or commercial banking
exposure will have an added advantage.
- Demonstrated
ability to accumulate, summarize and interpret risk reports.
- Excellent
communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills with ability to work
in a multicultural setting.
- Advanced
computer skills in MS Word/Excel/Power Point and related risk application
software.
