Summary
Our client has been providing power generation in Africa for over a decade. Due to the growth of African economies and the lack of rainfall having a detrimental effect on the production of hydro-power, our client has been contracted by several state utility companies to supply power. Our client has also provided rental
 
power in the booming oil and gas, mining and industrial sectors.
Purpose of the Job

To deliver annual revenue and profit targets for the region(s). Develop sales staff and systems in line with our global QHSE and OE standards to ensure sustained growth of the business.

Primary Responsibilities
Market Development:

    Identify rental prospects and opportunities with a focused emphasis on the geographical area of East Africa
    Develop annual sales, marketing and development strategy plans in order to achieve annual sales targets.
    Develop a network of contacts within customers and industries specified.
    Generate and receive enquiries, submit quotations, negotiate contracts and secure business.
    Raise awareness of Aggreko’s capabilities with identified customers and industries
    Work with Area General Manager and Marketing teams to advise on best marketing plans for the sectors

Operations:
    Adhere to operating processes and standard QHSE policy and procedures
    Implementation of the operational Excellence principles and QHSE systems
    Control costs within budget, published guidelines and authority levels.
    Manage all service procedures in line with the current service manual.
    Develop and help manage the key supply chain for the region
    Monitor and implement KPI’s
    Work closely and communicate effectively with each of GM”s and with all Central support functions.

Financial:
    Achieve monthly revenue forecasts and profit targets for East Africa
    Continued P & L and operational management for the region
    Submission of monthly reports, sales forecasts and competitive market reviews.
    Work with Operations and Commercial dept to resolve any payment or performance issues with the clients.
    Prepare and submit monthly revenue forecast & weekly ‘Flash’ to the finance manager for East Africa

People Development:
    Ensure appropriate recruitment of skilled staff takes place to allow growth of the business
    Develop staff with technical and sales training as required
    Retain staff through proper use of performance reviews, goal setting and feedback discussions
    Continuously monitor the designated market sectors and probe for new opportunities.
    Monitor competitor activity and submit competitor info on a regular basis.
    Promote safe working practices in all areas and on all sites.
    Any other duties considered essential for effective operations & services

EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
    Should be especially able to work all through EA
    Degree qualified in a relevant area highly desired
    Experience in customer service delivery at a management level, and customer relationship management in East Africa preferably to the mining, petrochem, shipping and or construction sectors
    An entrepreneurial extrovert who excels at developing customer relations and networking.
    Knowledge of Oil & Gas, EPC, Utilities and Engineering sectors an advantage
    Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contracts.
    Must be a team player and goal achiever.
    Knowledge of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferable.
    Able to fit the Aggreko culture
