Our Kenyan client, an importer and distributor of electronics from leading manufactures is recruiting a Security Officer. The incumbent will be in charge of the overall security at the firms premises.
Duties
* Check and ensure proper verification on incoming and outgoing items, against supporting documents, approved by management.
* Perform routine spot checks.
* Check on any act of fraud, coercion or undue influence.
* Ensure all transactions especially sales returns are proved.
* Ensure patrols are done in, within and around the premise and assist in controlling entrances.
* Co-ordinate with the guard, other security personnel and the stores supervisor on issues regarding the safety of items around the premise and movements of items from one area to another.* Perform routine spot checks.
* Check on any act of fraud, coercion or undue influence.
* Ensure all transactions especially sales returns are proved.
* Ensure patrols are done in, within and around the premise and assist in controlling entrances.
* Check and report any damage or breakage and establish the nature of occurrence.
* Carry out investigation on all reported cases and provide the findings to management.
* To ensure the emergency alarm/ panic button is kept at a strategic place accessible by all security personnel and is tested and functioning in case of an emergency.
* Ensure security control measures are strictly followed; make proposals adjustments where necessary with the approval of the management.
* Perform CCTV operations throughout the premises and ensure confidentiality of information.
* Ensure strict gate pass policy is adhered to using both manual or electronic gadgets and ensure all relevant documents are in place before entry/exit.
* Assist in overseeing loading and offloading of items when requested.
Requirements
* A diploma holder in security management or an equivalent with at least 3 years experience in security management.
* A past member of the armed forces will have an added advantage.
* Experience of working in security management in the commercial sector, and maintenance of high-technology security systems.
* Strong people management/supervisory skills, proven ability of managing security service providers and good communication skills.
