Job Duties and Responsibilities For Compliance Officer
ACTED Kenya is currently looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to be based in Nairobi.
Reporting to the Country Director and the Compliance Manager her/his specific duties will include:

FLAT Filing: [The FLAT process aims at centralizing, integrating and harmonizing the information coming from Finance, Logistics, Administration, Programme for each project].
Compile and file all project related financial, logistics, administrative, and programme information in the designated project FLAT folder
Facilitate the country FLAT review process once the project has been terminated and ensure the adoption of any changes in the project FLAT file that have occurred as a result of Cost/expenses re-allocations done by the finance department
Submit the completed FLAT folder to the Compliance Manager once the FLAT review process has been completed and ensure that the duplicate FLAT folder is securely archived.
Participate in generating the Annual Audit plan of the Mission.
Compliance & Assurance
Assurance: Provide timely supplementary quality control of the FLAT documentation by checking the accuracy and consistency of the information between the related documents and report discrepancies immediately to the Compliance Manager.
Assurance: Conduct a monthly market-price survey of the materials/services identified in the current country market basket (frequently procured items/services). The data gathered should then be tabulated against the actual prices paid by ACTED in the transactions incurred during that month.
Compliance: Facilitate and report compliance of all Audit recommendations/Action plans under the authority of the Country Director and provide accurate feedback immediately.
Compliance: Comply with the Audit Department Code of conduct.
FLAT Reporting
The Compliance Officer will also participate in preparing a monthly FLAT report giving as much detail as possible for all existing projects that are ongoing and completed but are yet to reviewed and submitted to the Regional Office
Facilitate the preparation of the Mission for external audits, under supervision of the Compliance Manager.
Any other duties that may be assigned to you by your line Manager.
Qualifications Required From Kenyans
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) from a recognized Kenyan University or equivalent preferably pursing ACCA professional Stage or CPA (Kenya) Part 3
Proficiency in Spread Sheets and Databases will be an added advantage
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position is desired.
Ability to coordinate with other departments.
Highly motivated and ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people;
