Assistant Accountant – (2 positions) Lira and Mbarara SURE Project
Overall responsibilities
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the SURE
Program, ensuring compliance with MSH policies and procedures. S/he is responsible for producing
Regional Financial and Administrative reports in accordance with MSH and USAID policies and
Procedures. S/he ensures that financial and administrative transactions are accurately authorized,
documented and recorded. S/he is responsible for facilitating all Regional Staff advances, travel
requests, and procurement requests. S/he supports the preparation and coordination of
workshops/trainings as well as managing the fleet of motorcycles for the districts in the region. In
collaboration Kampala Headquarter Finance and Administration department, coordinates the
procurement of goods and services for the regional office and management of all office inventory and
supplies.

Qualifications
1)Degree in Accounting from a recognized University, 2) At least 3 years demonstrated financial and administrative experience, knowledge of USAID regulations preferred, 3) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and to multi-task, 4) Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications particularly Word & Excel and experience in Quick Books Accounting package is an added advantage, 5) A firm understanding of Accounting and financial management principles, ability to create and monitor budgets, and sense of importance of attention to details
