Mine Action Coordination Center of United Nation (UNMACC) recruits:
Program: Emergency Mine Action, DRCongo.
Level ICA-L3
Location: Entebbe
Reporting to: National Logistics Officer
Duration: 12 months
Deadline for applications: Two weeks from announcement in the newspaper.
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the National Logistics Officer in DRCongo, the duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Transport in Entebbe Office
• Be in charge of the vehicle trip ticket and regular check on these documents to ensure fuel consumption is in line with the specifications of the relevant model.
• Ensuring and makes arrangements for the regular servicing and maintenance of vehicles and records service history.
• Ensuring that vehicles have relevant and updated documentation and are in a roadworthy condition in Uganda.
Travel in Entebbe Office
• Follow up the movement of Mine Action to/from Uganda including all needed documents (MOP, Security clearance…)
• Ensuring all hotel bookings and confirmations and also transports to the airport or movement within Uganda
• Ensure the Cargo Movement Requests (CMR) for supplies and equipments in the area including any vehicles in transit
Procurement and Supply in Entebbe
• Assisting the Logistics Officer in evaluating the projects equipment and supplies requirements, compiling of this information and determining the most efficient economical mode of procurement/delivery in Uganda.
• With strict adherence to UNOPS rules and regulations receives quotations for local procurement requirements and prepares an analysis on the quotations and makes recommendations to award a contract / Purchase Order.
• Movement of equipment into and within Uganda including all customs matters.
Inventory
• Ensure regular physical inventories in Entebbe and the Eastern region in DRC
• Preparing reports to the Logistics Officer
General
• Responsibility for the office in Entebbe
• Support Logistics to all Mine Action partners, contractors and Monusco
• Be the liaison Officer to ESB/MONUSCO departments
• Provide support to MACC and operators personnel transiting through Entebbe
• Maintaining the Project Communications network including VHF, HF and satellite means.
• General tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
• Baccalaureate+3 in business administration, engineering, economics or Diploma in a relevant discipline, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
• Experience in procurement and stock management systems.
• A minimum of 5 years similar middle management experience in logistics operations, preferably in humanitarian aid.
• Proven employment record with a strong reporting history in the procurement and logistics field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement and logistics databases.
• Excellent knowledge of material management policies including inventory and stores control.
• Knowledge of UN rules and regulations highly desirable
• Excellent personal organizational skills.
• Flexibility in undertaking any kind of assignment.
• Sound computer skills, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes and Access.
• Ability and flexibility to work in a multi-national/multi-cultural environment.
• Valid civilian driving license.
Language
• Fluent in English (spoken and written) French will be a valuable asset. Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing

• Ugandan Nationality with valid passport
• Physically fit.
