Assistant F&B Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya

Our client, an International Hotel Chain in Nairobi, is looking for an Assistant F&B Manager

The successful candidate will assist the Director of F&B in managing the department. 

He/she MUST maintain guest service and F&B standards to meet the market needs and guest expectations. 

A very hands on job that requires a lot of flexibility. 

MUST have worked in a 5 star property. International experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  •  To be in charge of overall supervision, planning, training, coordinating and communicating with staff within the department.
  • Identify market needs and trends.
  • Assist Director of F&B in recruiting & selecting employees.
  • Act as a service staff when necessary.
  • Assist Director of F&B in developing menus to meet the market needs.
  • To be familiar with F&B standard & company policies.
  • Acknowledge and screens daily work schedule.
  • Conduct daily briefing and de-briefing in the absence of the department head.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, subordinates, immediate supervisors and other section heads.
  • Operate and assist wherever needed at all times.
  • Check and improve all service standards established by the company.
  • Supervise staff activities to maximize revenue and minimize costs.
  • Promote the hotel’s image, and businesses.
  • Participate in community projects or activities in order to promote the hotel’s image and cooperation to improve community relations.
  • Coaches, counsels and trains all staff when applicable.
Qualifications
  • Minimum education of a Bachelor’s degree in hotel management or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years in F&B experience in a similar capacity in a 5 star environment.
  • Good knowledge in the principles and practices within the food & beverage/hospitality profession.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both in written and spoken.
  • Computer literate.
  • Possess professional disposition with excellent interpersonal skills.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 130,000 - 150,000/= plus medical cover (Approx. 1,300 - 1,500 USD) depending on experience
