Jhpiego, an affiliate of the Johns
Hopkins University, is an international NGO committed to improving the health
of women and their families.
Jhpiego-Kenya works in close
collaboration with both the Ministry of Health at National level and with
County Governments in the areas of HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, Maternal, Newborn and
Child Health, Reproductive Health, Family Planning and Non-Communicable
Diseases.

Deputy Project Director / Technical Lead:
HIV Care & Treatment/TB
The Deputy Project Director/ Technical Lead: Care and Treatment/TB will provide managerial and technical guidance to the field team of the project.
S/he will be the technical lead for
HIV prevention, care and treatment and TB interventions in the project,
ensuring their adherence to national and international standards.
S/he will closely work with the
Project Director, who is responsible for the strategic direction and oversight
of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and programmatic leadership
in program design and implementation in areas of HIV prevention, care
& treatment and TB, including, but not limited to HSS, EMTCT, VMMC,
Lab Strengthening, Key Populations and TB) with focus on the expansion and
quality assurance in accordance with PEPFAR and national HIV/AIDS Response
objectives.
- Mentor, motivate and supervise program staff
and consultants and align their efforts to project goals
- Assist the Project Director to foster
strategic partnerships with partners, county government and other
stakeholders
- Ensure quality improvement approaches are
included in all project areas
- Represent project in public and professional
meetings and conferences
- In consultation with others, guide the
analysis and reporting of project outputs and results, and ensure
incorporation of lessons learned into ongoing project activities
Required Qualifications:
- A medical doctor, with post-graduate Degree in
Medicine, Public health or related field
- Must have over 7 years’ experience in
successful implementation of health programs, including planning, design,
supervision and evaluation, with at least 5 in HIV prevention, care and/or
treatment.
- Demonstrated excellent knowledge and experience
in PEPFAR and national HIV Care and Treatment strategies.
- First-hand experience in strengthening of
health services, health provider training, performance improvement, or
supervision.
- Team player with demonstrated ability to
produce quality results
- Experience in working with multiple partners,
donors and devolved health systems and county health personnel.
- Computer literacy, particularly in the use of
MS office
Senior Finance & Administration
Manager
The Senior Finance &
Administration Manager will be responsible for financial and administrative
management of project to ensure the smooth running of the project and the field
offices.
This includes supervision, financial,
grants and administrative operations of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial and administrative technical
advice to all project staff for effective program implementation.
- Manage the effective utilization of projects
financial management system to ensure accurate financial tracking,
reporting and in compliance with Jhpiego policies, donor and legal
requirements.
- Review and administer sub-agreements, monitor
grants payments and the compliance to award terms and conditions.
- Review and implement policies, procedures and
systems to ensure effective internal controls are in place and are adhered
to.
- Assist program staff to develop work plans,
annual budgets and quarterly reports for the project and the office costs.
Required Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
Business Administration or equivalent
- Qualified accountant with CPA(K), ACCA or
equivalent
- 10 years of post-qualification experience in
financial management with at least 5 years in a senior position in a
reputable NGO or development agency
- Ability to communicate and to confidently
engage with high ranking government and donor partners
- Conversant with CDC and PEPFAR financial
guidelines/regulations
- Computer literacy, particularly working
knowledge of QuickBooks and MS office
