The aim of PEACE
III is to support EA regional and US government goals in improving stability
along EA’s border regions by strengthening the horizontal and vertical linkages
within and between local, national and regional conflict management actors.

work with local implementing partners to build capacity of community peace
leaders and organizations while strengthening inter-personal and inter-communal
collaboration at all levels
Pact is seeking
to recruit dynamic, qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following
position:
Position Title: Finance
Officer
Supervisor: Senior Finance Officer
Supervises: Finance Assistant
Location: Mandera
Job Summary: Reporting to the Finance Manager, the
Finance Officer will primarily be responsible for the day to day cash
management and reporting of the program funds disbursed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Handling of petty cash payments, replenishment of petty cash, record to transactions petty cashbook as per Pact Inc In Kenya’s policy
- Monitoring cash flow, and ensure that sufficient funds are always available in the bank
- Recording and updating financial books of accounts with payments and receipt entries
- Being responsible for the field related activity payments e.g. workshop events
- Handling and checking liquidation submitted by staff before approval by Finance officer and Manager
- Receiving cash payments from staff and partners
- Reconciling staff advances and receipt of money owed to Pact Inc In Kenya
- Checking all staff liquidations and making relevant entries in the accounting system
- Analyzing the Purchase Order module on a monthly basis and follow up on long outstanding purchase orders
- Processing Grantee Liquidation Reports
- Preparing monthly Bank Reconciliations and follow up with vendors on uncollected and un-presented cheques
- Preparing and pass journal entries on need basis
- Ensuring all accounting records are up to date, well stored and easily retrievable
- Working with Finance Assistant to ensure that financial support documentation is filed on a monthly basis and files are well labelled
- Preparing statutory payments and ensure that such payments are made on time without attracting penalties
- Assisting in the production of the monthly financial reports
- Assisting in organizational audit
- Providing any other financial information, as requested, and respond to any other financial queries
- Other duties as may be assigned
Skills and Qualifications
The minimum required academic and
professional skills for the jobholder to perform successfully in their job are:
- At least CPA II and a degree in accounting or any relevant field
- At least two years’ experience in a finance related field
