The Kenya School
of Government was established by the Kenya School of Government Act, 2012.
The mandate of
the School is to provide training, consultancy and research services designed
to inform public policy, promote
national development and standards of competence, and integrity in the Public
Service.

Reporting to
Internal Audit Manager the principal Internal Auditor will undertake audit
duties/assignments covering the full range of the School’s services and those
of the School's external clients, with the objective of ensuring that the audit
function is undertaken efficiently, effectively and economically, conducted in
a professional manner and in compliance with the School’s Policy
He will be in
charge of the daily monitoring and supervision of Auditors as directed by the
Internal Audit Manager.
The post holder
will be required, as part of his job, to travel and visit other Campuses.
The officer will
be required to take charge of a complex audit assignments including auditing of
annual accounts ,compiling reports of audit findings and will responsible for
supervision of audit staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure audit function is performed in an efficient and effective manner through the utilization of current audit techniques
- Ensure that adequate controls are built into systems to ensure production of professional reports
- Ensure that audit staff are adequately instructed and supervised
- Prepare routine reports on assignments undertaken for submission to the Audit manager.
- Establish and maintain sound working relationships with all departments and staff.
- To maintain, at all times, the confidentiality of any information obtained in the discharge of the duties
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge and current developments in audit environment and continuously assess their impact on the audit environment.
Qualifications and experience
- Master’s in Business Administration accounting/Auditing option
- Bachelor of Commerce Accounting/Auditing option
- Registered with the Institute of Internal Auditors or member ICPAK
- Must have demonstrated wide administrative capability and high degree of professional competence in managing internal audit activities.
- A person of high integrity, a team leader and results oriented
