Project Manager
The Lundin
Foundation is a private foundation headquartered in Canada and with regional
offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Accra, Ghana.
In line with
recent oil discoveries in the region, the Foundation’s Nairobi office is
currently seeking a full-time Project Manager to assist with the development
and management of significant community investment initiatives in the Turkana
and northern regions of Kenya.
This is an
exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization
focused on innovative and sustainable initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing community development projects to ensure achievement of targeted impacts and effective budgetary controls.
- Managing external consultants
- Managing stakeholder relationships required for the success for the projects
This position
will be based in Nairobi and will report to the Foundation’s East Africa
Portfolio Manager.
It is expected
that 30% regional travel will be required.
Required skills and experience include:
- Undergraduate degree (minimum)
- Minimum 3-5 years project management experience with demonstrated track record of success
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Self-starter and entrepreneurial
- Stakeholder engagement, in particular with rural communities
- Strong relationship builder across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Business oriented mindset
- Preferred (but not required) skills and experience include:
- Experience in rural economic/SME development
- Experience in technical / vocation training
- Experience in building supply chains and local procurement
- Experience with corporate relations and corporate responsibility
- Fluency in Turkana
Remuneration
will be commensurate with experience.
