Head Trade Finance
Job Summary:
Under the direct
supervision of the Director, Trade Finance, the Head Trade Finance is
responsible for the supervision of a team of professionals engaged principally
in identification, preparation and appraisal of trade finance proposals for
financing by the Bank.
Job Specifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field; A professional qualification such as CIB, CFA and/ or Master’s Degree in any of the above fields will have added advantage;
- A minimum of 10 years of banking experience including at least three (3) years in a supervisory/ managerial level in a Commercial/ Development Banking or Financial institution environment;
- Demonstrated track record of solid performance in previous roles across Eastern and Southern Africa with strong networks in business and commercial banking sectors;
- Extensive knowledge of trade finance products and structures, including; structured commodity finance transactions, structured pre-export finance transactions, ECA-backed transactions and receivables, discounting/ supply chain finance transactions;
- Robust Structured Trade Finance (STF) deal structuring and execution capabilities such as risk analysis, financial modeling, structuring, in-depth knowledge of legal documentation with proven ability to structure a compeling lending paper;
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and sales skills in demanding markets /environments with ability to lead and coordinate complex negotiations with internal and external counterparts;
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and facilitation skills with ability to work in a multicultural setting;
- Fluent in English or French, ideally bilingual (English/ French).
