Position Title: Financial
Services Manager
Reports to: CEO
Department: Economic Empowerment
County: Nairobi
JCCL offers
microcredit short term loans at affordable rates, to salaried individuals and
self-development groups such as Chamas, women groups, youth groups, MARPs among
others.

Job Purpose: Provide
business development and financial control by ensuring growth of JCCL portfolio
through driving, coordinating, development and monitoring of company products.
In addition,
support counties in the actualization of their county strategic plans aligned
to Vision 2030
Key
Responsibility
1. Business
Planning and Development
·
Undertakes Research and Analysis to understand implications for
institution's business planning and advice staff.
·
Implement the business planning and ensures strategic plan
objectives are cascaded in the department.
·
Identify new product opportunities.
·
Assist with the development of company new product process.
·
Proactively undertake industry networking to collect market
intelligence and identify new business opportunities.
·
Responsible for the achievement of business targets.
2. Relationship
Management
·
Maintain an in-depth understanding of company business plans,
financial projections and support requirements
·
Define work plan and manage staff based on loan portfolio priorities
3. Monitoring and
Risk Management
·
Ensure portfolio quality through effective monitoring,
evaluation and follow up
·
Ensure due diligence through regular communications
·
Strengthen staff capacity by providing training & support on
JCCL lending and reporting systems and policies
4. Internal
Controls
·
Assesses key risk areas, and designs, implements, and trains
staff on appropriate systems to ensure strong internal controls
·
Facilitates external audit relationship and application of
auditor recommendations responsiveness to internal control requirements
·
Coordinate finance audit and compliance
5. Credit
Management and Administration
·
Maintain day to day reports on loans disbursement and repayments
·
Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored,
including credit control.
·
Support and supervisor accountants and credit officers in the
provision of information for the estimates.
·
Ensure that loan processed adhere to stipulated guidelines
·
Verify loan applications
·
Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the
computerized accounting system
6. Any other
duties and responsibilities in line with finance management
Education and
Training
·
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelors degree in Commerce,
Finance, Accounting, Economics or any other related field
·
Diploma in cooperative management will be added advantage
·
Professional qualifications in ACCA or CPA(K)
Experience,
Skills and Abilities
·
Minimum 3 years hands on experience in cooperative management or
banking.
·
Good working knowledge of the current Kenya tax Law and
practices;
·
Excellent computer skills and competency in Word, Excel and
PowerPoint;
·
Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine
priorities and meet multiple deadlines;
·
Detail-oriented with good multi-tasking abilities and
communication skills, both oral and written;
