Anglican
Development Services of Mt. Kenya East (ADSMKE) is the Development arm of the
Anglican Church of Kenya, working in Mt. Kenya East region.
It covers 5
Dioceses of Kirinyaga, Embu, Mbeere, Meru and Marsabit with a vision of a
society that enjoys wholesome and dignified living.
Programme Coordinator
Duty location: Marsabit – with frequent travel to
Moyale and Isiolo
Terms: one (1) Year Fixed Term Contract (Renewable)
Role context:
The role relates
to implementation of East African Emergency Appeal and Resilience projects
funded by DFID in Marsabit, Moyale and Isiolo supported through Christian Aid
Kenya programme and implemented by ADSMKE
The role is
expected to provide technical support to ADSMKE stations in implementation of
PPA (Programme Partnership Agreement) and Appeal funded initiatives in Isiolo,
Moyale and Marsabit.
This will
involve project planning and design by supporting field offices in developing
livelihoods interventions that meet the criteria provided by donors;
facilitating development of concepts, proposals, work plans and budgets.
The role will
also support project implementation by developing and advising on appropriate
implementation methodologies that ensure timely implementation of
interventions, procurement, effective financial management and overall
programmes integration.
Finally
supporting monitoring and evaluation for the projects by ensuring there exists
an M&E system, M&E tools, quality and timely reporting as well as
learning and documentation.
The role
requires competencies in effective communication, good interpersonal skills,
planning and organization as well as networking and coordination.
The position
holder should be a graduate in a relevant discipline or equivalent; development
related discipline.
Knowledge and
qualifications in any vocational training or specialized field is an added
advantage.
The role
requires community development experience specifically in the project cycle
management.
In addition,
experience in gender and power, participatory community development approaches
and capacity building are key to this role. Understanding ASAL contexts
specifically pastoral livelihoods is required.
The role is
expected to work closely with a team of staff in ADSMKE both at Headquarters
level and field level involved in supporting implementation of projects.
Additionally,
the role is expected to interact with Christian Aid Kenya Staff in livelihoods
to ensure there is coherence in implementation of programmes in line with the
partnership principles between the two organizations.
