The Safaricom
Investment Cooperative (S.I.C) is a progressive medium sized organization
registered under the Cooperative Societies Act (Cap 490).
It embraces the
principles of the cooperative movement and exists to provide its members with
optimal returns on their pooled investments.
Salary Package:

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the
Board of Management, the Chief Executive Officer, will be responsible for the
following:-
- To provide visionary leadership and direction to the organization and to ensure that Society’s mandates and policies are implemented fully and effectively in line with the strategic plan.
- To ensure that financial statements are prepared periodically and in time under strict reporting deadlines.
- To formulate strategies and business plans, lead teams for high performance and innovation.
- To ensure prudent management of resources for the achievement of the Society’s mandate and strategic objectives.
- To initiate, establish, strengthen and oversee inter-institutional collaborations and Strategic partnerships for the realization of the Society’s mandate and strategic objectives.
- To ensure that Society’s staffs remain motivated to discharge their responsibilities effectively and efficiently, and in compliance with human resource management policies and practices.
- To establish and sustain effective relationships with the Board of Management, the Government, parent Ministry, and other stakeholders.
- To promote a culture of compliance with regulations, statutory requirements, good corporate governance principles and best practices in the Society.
- To perform any other responsibilities as determined and deemed necessary by the Board of Management.
Key Qualifications and Competencies
- The candidate aspiring for the post of Chief Executive Officer shall have a degree in Business, Finance, Economics or other related field from a recognized University.
- At least 7 years management experience, 5 of which must be at senior management level
- Proficiency in MS Office computer packages
- Experience in cooperative management, property and real estate project management will be an added advantage
