in Nairobi, we are seeking to employ an experienced
Investment Officer
for Fair Trade
and Sustainable Agriculture Finance
This opening is
related to our investment funds’ activity in Francophone Africa, with a focus
on financing working capital and fixed assets of agriculture producer
organizations or also other parties involved in the sustainable agricultural
value chain (traders, processors, seeds providers, machinery providers, etc).
Key responsibilities:
- Originating and nurturing business relations with producer and agricultural value chain.
- Credit risk analysis of such organizations, their markets, and of the traded commodities.
- Monitoring of portfolio investments and corresponding markets.
- The position requires significant travel across Sub-Saharan Africa.
We are seeking applications of candidates
who have:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in the assessment or financing of institutions experience in the soft commodity trading area and / or the agriculture value chain sectors preferred.
- Degree in business administration, finance, economics or a related field.
- Excellent oral and written skills in French and English required, African languages are a plus.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, writing and presentation skills.
- Interest in and enthusiasm for development finance.
