The Office of the Auditor General draws its mandate from the Constitution of Kenya. 

Article 229 of the constitution establishes the Office of the Auditor–General. Article 248, Section 3 and Article 249, Section 2 (a) and (b) provides for the independence of the Office. 

This Office is mandated to audit Accounts of all National and County Governments, among other Public Entities.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other relevant discipline and membership of good standing in a relevant professional organization.
  • Post graduate education will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience, 2 of which should be at a Senior level in External PR & communications, busy media house;
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to produce high quality press writing and other communication within strict deadlines;
  • Ability to synthesize complex technical reports and translate them to simple narratives for public consumption;
  • Demonstrate competence in IT.

Applicants from Office of the Auditor-General who are qualified for promotion to these grades in accordance with the respective Schemes of Service will be considered.
