Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya which
is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network.
The hospital is part
of a network of health facilities in East Africa which include: Clinics, Aga
Khan Hospital Mombasa, Aga Khan Hospital Dar es salaam and Aga Khan University
Hospital Nairobi.
The Aga Khan
Hospital, Kisumu has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO
9001:2008 accreditation, ISO 15189:2007 accreditation for laboratory services
and is moving towards Joint Commission International Accreditation.
The Aga Khan
Hospital, Kisumu has also expanded its services to Kisii, Kakamega, Busia,
Kisumu and Bungoma Counties.

Theatre Nurse
Theatre Nurse
Overall
Responsibility
The successful
candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining high standards of
professional nursing care by providing quality services with special focus on
operations and surgeries to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a scrub
and circulating nurse.
- Provide a safe
environment for patients by employing best nursing practices and
implementing infection control procedures.
- Assist the
Theatre Manager with preparation on staffing, equipment and procedures.
- Assist the
surgeon in surgeries, by ensuring correct administration and safe custody
of drugs.
- Participate
actively in Continuous Nursing Education / Continuous Medical Education as
well as audits.
- Receive and hand
over patients by preparing accurate, detailed and timely reports.
Requirements
- Diploma in KRCHN
or above.
- Diploma in
Theatre Nursing.
- BLS / ACLS
certificate and other unit specific certification requirements.
- At least one
year working experience in a busy theatre facility.
- Valid Kenyan
nursing practice licence.
- Working
knowledge of a Hospital Management Information System will be an added
advantage.
- Excellent PR and
Communication skills.
Dental Assistant
Overall
Responsibility
Reporting to the
Dental Surgeon, the successful candidate will assist the dental surgeon in the
provision of comprehensive dental services in line with the hospital’s mission.
Requirements
Requirements
- Diploma in
Dental Assisting.
- At least two
years experience preferably in a busy dental practice
- Self motivation
and ability to work without supervision.
- Good
interpersonal skills.
- Pleasant
personality, team player.
- Excellent
communication skills.
Cook
Overall
Responsibility
The successful
candidate will be responsible for general food production, therapeutic diets,
maintenance of hygienic environment in the Catering Department.

- Preparing meals
as per the set policies and procedures.
- Ensure the
implementation and practice of the HACCP hygiene management system within
the kitchen.
- Ensuring
provision of timely meals as per the set time schedules.
- Production of
cost effective and well balanced menus to meet changing client’s needs.
- Estimating food
consumption to avoid under or over production for cost effectiveness.
- Ensure sound
maintenance and use of machines or equipment through timely reporting of
faults.
- Avoiding wastage
by deploying and using resources optimally and apply stock controls.
- Ensure Superior
Customer Experience to all internal and external clients.
- Performing any
other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Diploma in food
production.
- Minimum two
years working experience in a similar institution.
- Excellent PR and
communication skills.
