The Association for
the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) is a local NGO providing comprehensive
rehabilitation services with the aim of empowering persons with disabilities.
Nairobi Branch Accountant
Duties:
- Preparation of
projected weekly cash flow for the Nairobi Branch
- Preparation of
budgets for branch.
- Preparation of
Financial reports on the projects for effective control of funds.
- Ensure that all
books and financial reports are prepared accurately and audited in a
timely manner and coordinate the branch external audit
- Prepare monthly
financial management reports.
- Prepare payroll
and ensure statutory deductions are submitted on time
- Supervision of
the accounts clerks
- Prepare donor
financial reports according to their requirements
- Maintain
trading, profit and loss account for the income generation component
components of the branch
- Any other duty
assigned to you by virtue of your position.

Qualifications
- Degree in
Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized
university.
- Must be a
Certified Public Accountant CPA( K)
- At least 3 years
relevant working experience in the NGO and or manufacturing sector.
- Demonstrated
experience in financial management of donor funds and cost accounting
would be an added advantage.
- Have working
experience with SAGE accounting package and an excellent knowledge of
Excel.
- Have the ability
to work for long and odd hours under minimum supervision to meet deadlines.
- Available to
begin immediately.
Outreach Services Officer
Duties And Responsibilities
- Take overall
responsibility in the management in the administrative and programmatic services
of the program.
- Coordinate and
provide rehabilitation services in your area of expertise to the community
as part of the outreach rehabilitation activities.
- Initiate and/or
reinforce the network system with the Ministry of Health with existing structures
to promote integrated community development and access to health services.
- Facilitate
training and community empowerment activities.
- Provide accurate
and timely report to the management for planning.
- Coordinate
project activities and strategic planning with government line
ministries for sustainability and Ownership of the programme.
- Ensures proper
utilization of resources, including prompt accountability of funds and
reporting by the rehabilitation teams and volunteers involved in the
program.
- Create and
maintain files, statistics and other records in accordance with program
guidelines for Monitoring & Evaluation.
- Performing any
other duty assigned by the management by virtue of your position.
Qualifications:
- Diploma holder
in Orthopaedic technology, physiotherapy or Occupational therapy from a
recognized learning institution E.g. KMTC.
- 3-5 years
experience in Rehabilitation Health care services especially in community
outreach
- Conversant with
the Community Based Rehabilitation Guidelines and community strategy.
- Vast knowledge
in working with Government line ministries and understanding some of the
guidelines on disability and health.
- Ability and
willingness to work long odd hours in poor neighborhoods and travel
extensively.
- Ability to work
efficiently and with minimal supervision.
- Computer
literate especially working on excel and word sheet.
- Must be a team
player and innovative in problem solving at management and community
level.
