ICAP of Columbia
University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to strengthen
HIV Care and Treatment services at county health facilities.
This program is part
of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from
PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Director of Programs
Location: Nairobi with travel to Counties
Overall Job Function:
The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior technical in-country staff and will assist the ICAP office in the implementation of HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Programming.
Specifically, the
appointee will be responsible for planning and coordination of Prevention, Care
and Treatment activities at ICAP-supported sites.
Providing strong
leadership to a team of implementers will be an integral part of the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the
planning, initiation and implementation of HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment
services at ICAP-supported facilities
- To provide
on-going supervision of HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment programs
- To approve
procurement of equipment and consumables
- To coordinate
training of facility staff including mentorship
- To manage the development
of a community program
- To assist in
program monitoring and evaluation
- To liaise with
Ministry of Health officials and other stakeholders
Minimum
Qualifications:
- MD preferably
with Masters in Public Health (MPH) or similar degree
- 5+ years
experience in program planning
- Experience with
HIV programming
- Familiarity with
Health Systems care programs in Kenya
- Clinical
experience of HIV medicine an advantage
- Strong
supervisory and management skills
- Ability to work
independently with strong problem-solving skills
