International Medical Corps is seeking candidates to fill the
following positions;
WASH Officer – Technical (Nairobi)
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree
in Civil Officer Technicaling, Water Officer Technicaling, Hydrology or
Higher National Diploma in Civil Officer Technicaling, Water Officer
Technicaling, Hydrology with 3 years’ experience will be considered. Or
Diploma in Civil Officer Technicaling, Water Officer Technicaling,
Hydrology with minimum 5 years’ experience in WASH project design and
implementation, ground water resource management and borehole drilling in
development settings can be considered.
- Minimum
of 5 years relevant work experience and working with pastoralist
communities in the ASAL in Kenya.
- Previous
work experience in the ASAL region will be an added advantage.
- Practical
experience and understanding of large contract administration is a must.
- Prepare
tender documents – designs, bill of quantities, bidding data, contract
data and the contract conditions etc.
- Practical
knowledge in conducting WASH assessments and use of analytical software
tools such as SPSS, EPI Info, Strata
- Relevant
training in Project management and M&E. Field experience in M&E
strongly preferred.
- Practical
construction skills and an interest in low cost and local materials and
techniques.
- Experience
in design, construction and rehabilitation of Earth/Sub-surface Dams,
water pans, boreholes and Hand Dug Wells
- Previous
experience of implementing rural water and sanitation projects with INGO
is desirable
- Knowledge
and training on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) preferred.
- Past
experience working with USAID/OFDA, and UN grants, SPHERE standards will
be an added advantage.
Skills:
- Excellent
teamwork skills and the ability to build good relations both internally
and externally
- Demonstrated
analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects
- Good
computer skills including familiarity with AutoCAD (latest version), MS
office and survey software desirable.
- Strong

Logistics Assistant - Isiolo
Scope of work
- Monitors
the status of incoming supplies, status monitoring and correspondence with
suppliers
- Liaison
with users in order to organize reception of goods or organize safe
reception in the warehouses
- Processes
logistics requests from programs and ensures follow-up action completed.
- Ensure
that payments are processed promptly and adequately.
- Maintenance
of Kenya Country assets and inventory records per IMC and Donor
procedures, regulations and policies. .
- Receiving
and coordinating all goods movements’ right from procurement to
distribution level.
- Assist
with procurements for field programs.
- Follow
up and update field staff on their security and safety.
- Organize
and manage transportation network for people and supplies
- Ensure
that all stock records are properly maintained and stock movements
monitored
- Maintain
store-keeping records and dispatch of goods to the desired
locations/destinations promptly.
- To
undertake any other logistics function that may be called upon
Qualifications and Skills
- University
degree in Business Administration, Management, Transport or related field.
- Proven
ability to plan, manage and monitor the effective use and safekeeping of
fixed assets and financial resources.
- Good
analytical and negotiating skills.
- Good
knowledge of computer management and applications.
- Ability
to establish harmonious working relations in an international and
multicultural environment.
