LAPFUND is a State Corporation established by an Act of
Parliament Cap 272 Laws of Kenya and recognized in the County Government Act,
2012 (Section 132), Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011 (Section 49) as a pension
scheme for employees of County Governments and associated companies ¡n Kenya.
Zonal Coordinator:
Ref: LAPFUND No.1/HR/2013 (3 Positions)
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Member Recruitment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the zonal office.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall
supervision of the zone
- Provide
significant input in development and management of marketing strategies
for existing and new clients
- Carry out market
intelligence analysis and customer needs assessment
- Ensure
compliance with laid down procedures and LAPFUND policies within the zone
- Monitor, analyze
and report on performance with regards to registration/admissions,
contribution remittances, claims processing and benefits administration
within the zone
- Implement all
strategic initiatives associated with business development and marketing
of LAPFUND’s products and services.
- Ensure claims
processing procedures are well followed within the zone
- Organize and
coordinate member education and training within the zone through seminars
and exhibitions
- Liaising and
networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues
and partner organizations
- Effectively
manage client visits in the respective zone and report any major issues of
concern to the Management for action or direction
- Assist in the
development and production of marketing materials and literature and
ensure effective distribution of the same
- Monitor
expenditure and submit quarterly reports on the same.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum three
(3) years area sales experience preferably in insurance, financial
services or pensions
- A Masters Degree
in the relevant field will be an added advantage
- Business acumen
including general knowledge of investment
- Ability to
engage with high level internal and external partners/stakeholders
including Government agencies and officials

Marketing Officer:
Ref: LAPFUND No.2/HR/2013 (6 Positions)
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Member Recruitment, the Marketing Officer will be charged with the overall responsibility of overseeing marketing and recruitment activities in assigned regions with a view of increasing the market share for LAPFUND.
Specifically, the officers will carry out the following tasks:
- Provide
significant input to brand planning, developing new business strategies
and marketing initiatives;
- Management of
Key accounts, Planning & implementation of short & long term
strategies in line with overall business objectives;
- Ensure that
objectives in terms of availability, visibility, volume, and quality of
services are achieved within assigned area;
- Liaising and
networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues
and partner organizations;
- Assist in the
production of marketing materials and literature, and ensure effective
distribution of the same;
- Communicating
with target audiences and managing customer relationships to ensure
retention;
- Manage
responsibility for budgets and ensure that all deadlines are met in a
timely and efficient manner
- Implement all
necessary public relations activities and schedules of events in support
of the brand and company communications strategy.
- Assist in
organizing events and exhibitions for the promotion of products and
services in order to capture potential markets.

Administration Officer:
LAPFUND No.3/HR/2013 (4 Positions)
Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager, the holder of this position will be in charge of the overall administrative functions of the office.
Key Responsibilities
- In charge of
general management of the reception and all other routine duties thereof
to include handling and management of clients and Maintain office
supplies/equipment- order stationery and other items for the office
including household/hospitality items
- Deal with all
general correspondence to include contribution schedules, cheques,
admission forms, claim documents and produce letters for area office staff
where appropriate.
- Record incoming
and outgoing mail /distribute incoming mail to relevant people and ensure
postage of outgoing mail.
- Maintain and
update a computerized and paper filing system for the office where
appropriate.
- Make travel
/accommodation arrangements for area office staff where appropriate.
- Organize and
maintain the office cleaning services.
- Ensure security
arrangements of office premises and safety of office and staff.
- Ensure proper
use of office facilities by staff and take note of any misuse.
- Ensure proper
authorization and use of official transport within the zone
- Ensure prompt
receipting of all payments.
- Submit regular
reports to the Head Office
Requirements
- Bachelor’s

Receptionist:
LAPFUND No.4/HR/2013 (1 Position)
Responsible to the Manager, Human Resource and Administration, the Receptionist will provide front office services in addition to secretarial, clerical and administrative support in order to ensure that LAPFUND services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer telephone
calls, screen and route the same while taking and relaying messages with
appropriate feedback to callers.
- Appropriately
respond to public inquiries
- Re-direct calls
as appropriate and take adequate messages when required
- Greet, assist
and/or direct members, clients and any other general visitor to
appropriate staff
- Receive, direct
and relay telephone messages and fax messages
- Open, date stamp
and register all general correspondence
- Assist in the
planning and preparation of meetings
- Provide
secretarial and clerical support where necessary
- Maintain
confidentiality in all correspondences and communications to clients,
staff and other stakeholders within LAPFUND.

Driver:
LAPFUND No.5/HR/2013 (2 Positions)
Reporting to the Human Resource & Administration Manager, the Driver will be charged with the mandate of providing reliable and safe official driving services to the staff of the Zonal office in line with the laid down regulations while demonstrating a high level of courtesy, integrity, honesty, tact and ability to work with people from different walks of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure provision
of reliable and safe driving services by driving office vehicles for the
transport of LAPFUND staff, officials and visitors in the Zone and
delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items,
- Ensure
cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of
daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle
maintenance plans and reports.
- Ensure proper
day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor
repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of
tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc so that the vehicle is
kept clean and in good running condition at all times.
- Ensure
availability of all the required documents/equipment including vehicle
insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, and map
of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the
assigned vehicle.
- Ensure that the
steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement
¡n an accident.
Key Requirements
- Secondary
education ‘O’ Level.
- Must have a
valid and clean driver’s license
- Must have a
minimum of 3 years of work experience as a driver with a safe driving
record.
- Knowledge of
driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and
local roads and conditions
- Skills in minor
vehicle repairs
