Lutheran World Federation /
Department for World Service Kenya Programme is seeking to recruit Kenyan
nationals for the following positions to be based in Nairobi office:
Stores Supervisor
Major duties will include
but are not limited to the following:
- To ensure
the all transit goods (for the field projects) are received, stored and
dispatched in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with
approved procedures. More specifically:
- Receive and
cross check all goods purchased and raise Goods Received Note against
purchase orders as evidence that goods have been received.
- To return
goods that do not conform to the Purchase Order specifications or which
are not in good condition, and inform his/her supervisor accordingly.
- To ensure
that the goods are stored in safe and secure conditions during their
transiting in Nairobi, in particular against theft, fire and damage by
weather.
- To dispatch
goods to field projects at the earliest available means (plan for bulk
deliveries and bulk dispatches in collaboration with field projects,
transport and Logistics), ensuring that all goods are checked and counted
upon dispatch, that the completed documentation is signed and sent with
the consignment (i.e. waybills), and that the field projects are informed
of the dispatch/delivery.
- Generate
reports on weekly, monthly, half-yearly and yearly basis, on the purchase
and usage of how supplies have been utilized i.e. movement of stock in and
out of the stores.
- Setting up
of re-order levels for inventory
- To maintain
an up-to-date Assets Register for all assets in the Expatriates’ houses
and in the LWF office and share this in soft and hard copy with the
Logistics Officer on a quarterly basis.
- Filing and
archiving of stores and procurement documents.
- To develop
an Asset Movement Form to be completed/signed before assets are moved.
Professional Qualifications/experience:
- Higher
Diploma in Store keeping/management or related field from recognized
institution
- At least two
years working experience (NGO experience is an added advantage).
- Working
knowledge of computers in MS Word and Excel packages
- Excellent
record keeping and maintenance of an efficient system
- High level
of motivation, integrity, commitment.
- Ability to
work long hours with minimal supervision.
