A new Kenyan NGQ is seeking
volunteers to work on its programmes for a period up to 2 years.
These positions have a stipend of
40,000/- (gross) per month without any additional benefits.
Research and Development Manager
Qualifications: MSc
in Agriculture (Food Security qualification an added advantage). First Class
Honours required.
Commercial experience in field trials design,
implementation and publication of results
Responsibilities:
·
Design crop production systems with
low water and input demands, appropriate rotation plans and integrated pest
management programmes
·
Understand how to link planting
programmes to canteen vegetable orders.
·
Design menus that can utilise
appropriate crops to ensure nutritionally balanced diets
·
Design field trials to produce
statistically valid advice on crop production systems for growers in a range of
agro-ecological zones.

Manage our nutrition demonstration
farm
Training and Development Manager
Qualifications: BA.
International relations (MSc Environmental Management)
Responsibilities:
·
Coordinate and manage a training
programme
·
Design, construct and implement
alternative energy units for a demonstration farm
·
Monitor and Evaluate cost
effectiveness of various alternative energy options
·
Design and deliver training courses
in alternative energy and other livelihoods programmes such as vermi-culture,
aquaculture, egg-production, dairy goat production.
·
Develop the environmental
management of the farm
·
Review budget vs. actual reports,
providing feedback as necessary
·
Write funding applications
·
National programme development
·
Manage our nutrition demonstration
farm
