Institute overview:
Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a Tanzania based non-governmental Institute with a mission of developing and sustaining Health Research and Resource Institute capable of generating new knowledge and relevant information for public health policy and action.
Since its
inception in 1957 IHI has been known both within and outside of Tanzania for
its contributions in improving public health.
For
instance, in 2008, the Institute was recipient of the prestigious Prince of
Asturias Award for International Cooperation for its contribution to the fight
against malaria through research, training and dissemination of information for
policy making.
The
Institute has over 1000 staff across seven sites in the country.
Position Summary:
Chief of
Professional Development will strengthen professional development and per
formance management to create long-term institutional sustainability.
The
position guides the following three units: Training, Personnel and
Administration, and Circle of Fellows.
The
position requires a broad-based skill set that includes outstanding analytical,
managerial, strategic communications, and interpersonal abilities; broad
experience in Human Resources Management with specialization in Performance
Management and a deep knowledge in staff Training and Succession Planning also
to maintain ex staff and collaborators through the circle of fellows.
