Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, the Underwriter’s role is to receive corporate client quotation requests, assess against a set profile to evaluate risk exposure and issue a mutually beneficial quote to distributors.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Preparing
of quotes (rates and benefits) that conform to set company standards for
corporate new or renewal business.
- Recommend
appropriate cover benefits for schemes that ensure mutually beneficial
relationships.
- Ensure
timely issuance of quotes as per set lead-times.
- Respond
to client’s special benefits requests and ensure premium is charged.
- Ensure
appropriate maintenance of quotations data/information.
- Contribute
to underwriting department reports on medical trends via research and
market intelligence.
- Reports.
- Any
other duties assigned by your supervisor.
The right candidate must have the following:
- A
University degree in Actuarial, Insurance, Economics, Accounting
- A
Diploma in Insurance or CII qualification will be an added advantage
- Knowledge
of MS Office – A Must
- Good
interpersonal skills, excellent communications and analytical skills
- 3
years experience in insurance/underwriting
