Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kenya


ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and the Ministry of Medical Services to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services at provincial and district health facilities. 

This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Title: Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Nairobi/Nyanza
 
Overall Job Funaction
 
To provide technical support in the planning and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities within HIV care and treatment program at ICAP-supported facilities in coordination with the Ministries of Public Health and Sanitation and Medical Services.

The appointee will be reporting to the Director-Strategic Information and Research and will work closely with the Regional Directors.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities within the HIV program 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools for ICAP programs 
  • Audit and troubleshoot M & E systems within the HIV program at MOH health facilities 
  • Build capacity through training and mentorship programs for monitoring and evaluation at MOH facilities 
  • Participate in stakeholders activities to ensure incorporation of monitoring and evaluation into programs for HIV prevention, care and treatment 
  • Contribute to targeted public health evaluation and research including proposal writing, training, monitoring, analysis and dissemination of findings 
  • Serve as a resource in the evaluation of ongoing HIV/AIDS programs and in the subsequent development of new and/or expanded programs for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS
Requirements
  • Advanced Degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, international health, or related discipline 
  • At least 5 years professional experience in monitoring and evaluation systems, with at least 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation of HIV programs 
  • Strong data management and analysis skills Strong supervisory and management skills 
  • Excellent analytical and information management skills, with advanced proficiency in relational databases
