Finance Officer

Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp
 
Project Summary:

MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need. At present, MSFCH operates in three programmes locations in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan.
 
The selected candidate will be reporting technically to the Financial Manager and hierarchically to the Field Coordinator. 

He/she will oversee of the overall management of financial activities of the project in dose collaboration with the Field Coordinator.
 
Location: Dagahaley Refugee Camp, Dadaab
 
Start date: ASAP
 
Type of contract: Fix Term Contract for 12 months with possible extension based on performance.
 
Main Tasks (but not limited to):
  • Responsible for implementation of all internal controls as per MSF guidelines and specific instructions received from the manager: daily encoding in database, daily cash counts, weekly cash inventories and reconciliation, end-of-month cash inventories,
  • Ensure all validation & control of receipts and payments to suppliers, comply very strictly with MSF financial guideline, and the purchasing / validation/ payment procedures for the mission,
  • Ensure confidentiality on all cash / finance issues related to MSF, Responsible for one accounting book, Ensure the timeliness and quality of both:
  • Prepare cheque payments, transfer requests and bank reconciliations for all bank accounts directly managed, Responsible for quality of receipts / vouchers: check and ensure that they are in strict compliance with MSF standards and Finance guideline
Requirements:
  • University degree in accounting/finance/administration and/or professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in accounting preferably with international NGO.
  • Experience with MSF highly desirable. Good knowledge of Excel, able to produce basic tables.
  • Fluency in English, Kiswahili, and Somali is an asset.

Anaesthetist Clinical Officer

Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp
 
Project Summary:
 
MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need. 

At present, MSFCH operates in three programmes locations in Kenya, Somalia and Sudan.
 
The selected candidate will be reporting technically Hospital Director/Medical Doctors and hierarchically to the Hospital Director.
 
Location: Dagahaley Refugee Camp, Dadabb
 
Start date: January 15th, 2013
 
Type of contract: Fix Term Contract for 12 months with possible extension based on performance.
 
Main Tasks (but not limited to):
  • Ensure and organise anaesthetic medical activities for patients in accordance with hygiene standards, MSF and field anaesthesia guideline
  • Able to cope with safety of all types of anaesthesia and specifically to be excellent in spinal anaesthesia
  • Participating to the organisation of the ER, OT, recovery room and intensive care unit in collaboration with ward team supervisor and doctors
  • Checking and organising the good follow up of anaesthetic activities along the “path” of the patient: pre/per/post operative period
Requirements:
  • Validated Diploma in anaesthesia recognized by the state
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a busy surgical centre under supervision of an anaesthesiologist
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of Somali is an asset.
