Our
client one of the largest construction and civil engineering companies that
provides services for a wide a variety of projects, including harbors,
terminals, bridges, highways, dams, nuclear and other power plants,
petrochemical plants, commercial building and high rise apartments is
recruiting for the position of Civil and Structural Engineer.
The
main duties of the post will include managing maintenance works of a wide range
of projects and they will be responsible for the following:
- Preparing
civil/structural engineering design
- Assisting in
tender documentation and budget estimates
- Supervising
construction to ensure they meet structural and civil designs
- Reviewing
drawings (Internal and External)
- Carrying
building audits to establish status of service
Qualifications /Competencies/ Experience
The
ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and
competencies
- Bachelors Degree
in Structural engineering from a reputable institution
- At least 5 years
working experience in a similar capacity
- Excellent
analytical and decision making skills
- Ability to
brainstorm with dynamic engineering and manufacturing team
- Strong back
ground in structural and architectural design
- Solid knowledge
in steel, wood, concrete and masonry is essential
- Team player and
results oriented individual
- Working
knowledge of Building Analysis & Design software for concrete, steel
and wood such as: WinSTRUDL, CadrePro, STRAP or similar
- Working knowledge
in Auto-CAD (Auto structural), Solid Works and Pro-E a plus
- Exposure to IT
skills and design packages will be an added advantage
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work
under pressure and meet deadlines
Structural Engineers
Applicants must be holders of a Degree in Civil and Structural engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

addition, applicants must have;
- At least 5 years
experience preferably in Project Management gained in a reputable engineering
/ construction firm.
- Knowledge in the
process involved in steel fabrication and installations will be an added
advantage.
