Our products include Destination Magazine, the leading lifestyle magazine in East Africa (www.eadestination.com) that is available in all retail outlets in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.

We have a vacancy open for a Marketing /PR Coordinator position.

Job Title: Marketing/PR Coordinator

General Summary

Develop and execute effective marketing solutions to cultivate brand and growth of Destination Magazine and the other Haligonian Investment Ltd products

Main Role and Responsibilities

I.Marketing Plan
  • Design, implement, and facilitate the marketing plan for the Company. 
  • Develop brand portfolio objectives, strategies and plans to facilitate business growth.
II.Oversee  Communications Activities
  • Support and facilitate development and implementation of Destination’s communications strategy.
  • Public relations efforts: bring media attention to newsworthy activities, write and disseminate press releases.
  • Network and negotiate with media agents to secure agreements for Destination brand promotion
Skills and Abilities
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
  • At least 2 years experience in the media industry in Kenya or in a First World country. Able to bring fresh ideas, new uses for technology, and contacts from the industry.
  • Marketing experience at a professional company or organization required.
  • Experience with new media and Internet advertising. Must be highly efficient with social media.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
