Clerk of Works
Kenya National library
Service Board is an ISO 9001:2008 certified State Corporation under the
Ministry of National Heritage and Culture.
The Board is constructing a
modern National library and headquarters building at its premises at Community
along Ngong road.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Clerk of Works will be responsible for ensuring that high standards of quality control are maintained through monitoring of construction, contract progress, procedures, workmanship, schedules and the overall job safety as well as effective coordination between the contractor and the consultants.
He/she will be expected to:
- Be familiar
with all relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and
using them as a reference when inspecting the work
- Make visual
inspections
- Take
measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the
materials meet the specifications and quality standards
- Ensure that
the works are within the legal requirements
- Have a wide
understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials,
trades, methods and be conversant with statutory legal requirements
- Maintain
detailed records of all aspects of the works
Qualifications, Skills and Personal Qualities
Applicants should posses the following:
- At least C+
in KCSE
- At least a
diploma in Building Construction or Architecture
- Minimum 10
year experience as a Clerk of Works
- Good spoken
and written English
- Good
interpersonal skills
