The purpose of the project is to contribute to the
implementation of the UN-VAC recommendation on harmful practices,
giving special attention to the protection of children from Child Labor, trafficking and marriage.

Through this project Plan RESA aims to contribute to the
strengthening and empowerment of Government Institutions
to understand and respond to Child rights and protection issues; CSOs and media to support in raising awareness,
reporting, rehabilitation and reintegration of victims of child abuse.

The Regional VAC Project Coordinator will manage and coordinate
the implementation of the Regional project activities
and link these with all other VAC initiatives in the RESA countries.

Key result areas
a) Strengthen the capacity of law enforcement and Human Rights
institutions; and civil society organization (CSO) to
effectively contribute to the elimination of harmful practices

c) To influence policy and legislation dialogue and discussions
on harmful practices at international, regional and

Competencies/Qualifications and Experience
·
Demonstrated knowledge of Global, Regional and National trends
on Children Rights and understanding of the United Nation’s Study on Violence
against Children
·
Demonstrated experience in working with Government law
enforcement and Human Rights Institutions
·
Not less than 7 years work experience, three of which should be
in child protection programming and advocacy,
·
Good understanding of child protection systems within government
and community settings
·
Good understanding of programme, financial and operational management
processes
·
Practical experience in project research, monitoring and
Evaluation systems
·
Graduate qualification in Human/ Children Rights, Law, Social
Sciences or in any relevant disciplines. Post graduate qualifications in the
same field will be an added advantage.
