Chief Cotton Development Officer, and Driver Jobs in Kenya


Cotton Development Authority is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture (Riverside Drive) is looking for suitable candidates who are below the age of 45 years to fill the following posts:-

Job Ref : CODA/CCDO/01/2012
Job Title : Chief Cotton Development Officer
Scale : CODA 7 (1 Post)

a) Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies to improve production, processing and marketing systems for cotton enterprises;
  • Monitoring cotton growing, cotton ginning, advice on availability of farm inputs and inspect cotton plants for diseases and pest;
  • Implement and enforce the Cotton Rules and Regulations as provided in the Cotton Act;
  • Certify weights and qualities of raw cotton, cotton lint and cotton seed;
  • Registration and inspection of products, premises, farms and other cotton facilities;
  • Implement quality standards and ensure compliance.
b) Requirements for Appointment
  • Degree in Agriculture or in a related field from a recognized Institution; and
  • Certificate in Computer applications.
Job Ref : CODA/DRV II/02/2012
Job Title : Driver II
Scale : CODA 1 (1 Post)

a) Duties and Responsibilities
  • Driving, carrying out routine checks and general maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s).
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of the vehicle systems;
  • Maintenance of work ticket(s) for vehicle (s) assigned;
  • Overseeing security and safety of passengers, vehicle(s) and/or goods therein.
b) Requirements for Appointment
  • KCSE mean grade D (plain) and above;
  • A valid Driving license that is free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) an Officer is authorized to drive;
  • Attended a First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
  • Passed suitability test for Driver Grade II;
  • A current Certificate of Good conduct from the Kenya Police; and
  • At least three (3) years driving experience.
