Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development
consulting firm, seeks qualified professionals for the anticipated three-year
USAID-funded African Institutions Innovation Mechanism (AIIM)-Assist project.
Based in Nairobi, the project will provide technical assistance to AIIM, which is a key component of the multi-year East Africa regional strategy of the United States Government’s Feed the Future Initiative.
More specifically, AIIM-Assist will mobilize a cadre of capacity building
providers, technical experts and consultants to assist USAID/East Africa to
create true partnerships with local organizations.Based in Nairobi, the project will provide technical assistance to AIIM, which is a key component of the multi-year East Africa regional strategy of the United States Government’s Feed the Future Initiative.
USAID will release an Annual Program Statement (APS) for regional organizations and firms to write proposals to participate in the regional Feed the Future strategy.
The AIIMS-Assist project will assist USAID/East Africa in the management and tracking of the AIIM APS, provide support to build the capacity of AIIM grantees, and provide technical support to USAID missions in Feed the Future focus countries and African regional partners outside of AIIM.
Chief of Party
- Post-graduate
degree in a relevant field
- Minimum
10 years of overseas experience, including at least 5 years of experience
in Africa
- Strong
background in agriculture and food security
- Familiarity
with programs in related fields, including trade, finance, and nutrition
- Practical
experience with grants management, environmental impact assessments, and
capacity building with a diversity of organizations
- Demonstrated
leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Knowledge
of East Africa regional organizations serving agriculture and food
security issues
- Experience
in management and implementation of USAID projects
Institutional Capacity Building Specialist
- Post-graduate
degree in a relevant field
- Minimum
10 years of practical, hands-on experience working with training and
management systems in the public and private sector
- Familiar
with USAID rules, regulations, and procedures
- Demonstrated
success in capacity building activities with regional organizations
Management Information Systems (MIS) / Monitoring and Evaluation
(M&E) Specialist
- Bachelor’s
degree or higher in relevant field
- Minimum
5 years of experience managing MIS and M&E systems in collaboration
with a diversity of partner organizations
- Knowledge
of Feed the Future impact indicators, sampling, and data collection
methods a plus
