The IPPF Africa Regional Office in Africa is made up 38 Member Associations (MAs) working in 42 countries in Sub-Sahara Africa.

The
 Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will monitor and evaluate all projects within the MAs in the African Region funded through the Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Initiative (GCACI)

Key job requirements are:

   
* To ensure total compliance with reporting requirements in collaboration with other IPPF entities 
implementing the project
    * To ensure consistency in approach on monitoring and evaluation for the GCACI in collaboration with the GCACI Team in Central Office.
    * To build staff capacity at the Member Associations’ level in monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
    * To support regular data collection, data analysis and prepare reports in collaboration with the GCACI Team in Central Office.
    * To support the implementation of baseline and other surveys, such as project reviews, and mid-term and end-of-project reviews.
    * To present to stakeholders - data, lessons learned, best practices, quantitative, qualitative and anecdotal evidence provided by the GCACI activities.

Personal Qualifications:
    * Degree in social science statistics, demography, development or health related subjects, or equivalent standard of education.
    * Minimum 5 years experience gained in programme management, including programme monitoring and evaluation or operational research.
    * Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues in Africa
    * Excellent training and facilitation skills.
    * Excellent written, analytical, presentation and reporting skills;
    * Fluent in English and one other language desirable – French, Portuguese.

The post will require significant travel, up to 30%.
