Taragoon Dairies Company Ltd is a recently established farmer
owned dairy company with over 2,000 shareholders located in Bayete Centre, and
covering two divisions in Eldoret East and Wareng Districts. The company has
established a business hub at plot in Bayete shopping centre- Near Burnt
Forest. The chilling plant, approximately 35 Km from Eldoret on the busy
Eldoret – Nairobi highway, has been operational since October 2010.
As part of its growth plan, the company seeks to recruit the following senior management staff to manage its milk chilling plant, extension services and subsequent businesses.
1 CHILLING PLANT MANAGER:As part of its growth plan, the company seeks to recruit the following senior management staff to manage its milk chilling plant, extension services and subsequent businesses.
Reporting to Board of Directors, the CP manager will be in charge of all cooling plant operations and will be an advisor to the Board. S/he will supervise the performance of all staff members, develop work plans and oversee their implementation, be accountable for procurement decisions, mobilize milk from the villages, coordinate extension provision, manage CP accounts and manage supplier relations.
The manager will be expected to steer growth, drive efficiency and ensure profitability of the cooling plant.
The right candidate should possess;
* University degree in any business related degree or a diploma in Co-operative Management. Those candidates with accounting/finance/marketing, agricultural economics, food and dairy technology qualifications will have an added advantage.
* 3 years experience in managing cooling plants or management experience in a related field.
* Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and accounting skills
* Drive, commitment and other entrepreneurial skills
2 CHILLING PLANT ACCOUNTANT:
Reporting to the Manager, the accountant will be responsible for the company’s accounting and finance operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards. He/she will process financial information, reconciliations, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of activity reports and accounts as well as processing of payments. He/she will also produce management accounts and periodic financial statements to support decision making for the management as well as advice the board on effective financial management.
The right candidate should have;
* CPA 3 Section 1 V; A degree in accounting/ finance will be an added advantage.
* Computer literate
* Excellent analytical skills including financial analysis
* High integrity
* Drive and commitment
* Over 3 years experience in Accounting position
3 EXTENSION MANAGER:
Reporting to CP Manager, the Extension manager will be in charge of Extension Manager providing leadership to the CP extension staff; coordinating the formation of farmer groups and farmer trainings; roll out of BDS services to farmers and establishing linkages and partnership with other extension service providers; preparation of annual work plans and budgets; reporting to the board of Directors on Extension Activities and general administration.
The manager will be expected to contribute to the growth of company businesses through increase in farmer groups, provision of extension services and milk volumes and ensure growth and sustainability of the extension department.
The right candidate should possess;
* University degree or Diploma in Agriculture Extension, Animal Health, Veterinary Science or Community Development, agricultural economics, food and dairy technology or relevant field.
* 3 years experience in providing extension services to farmers, community development, working with farmer organization or management experience in a related field.
* Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
* Experience in developing extension workplans, training plans and conducting farmer trainings and in reporting.
* Experience in Establishing linkages with other extension and community development agencies and business service providers.
* Drive, commitment and other entrepreneurial skills
