JOB PURPOSE
To achieve sales objectives through daily distribution and sales of products within the demarcated region; providing information to the Sales Manager and Depot Manager on the market trend and market reaction on products i.e. customer satisfaction, pricing and completion.
Ensure that all customers’ orders are delivered with minimal delay and sales targets are achieved.
INDICATORS OF GOOD PERFORMANCE ON THE JOB
• Implementation of approved sales recommendations followed up and progress reports issued as scheduled.
• Adherence of Company policy and code of conduct
• Satisfied customers and reduction of complains
• Minimal losses/breakages/ leakages and NO shortages/ product tempering incurred
• High sale turn over
• Good maintenance of the vehicle allocated and minimal accidents
• Good Communication skills
KEY DUTIES
• To assist in achieving daily, weekly and monthly targets through proper route loading as per the route potential.
• Build and maintain business relationship with customers, handle their queries, and report on any significant/persistent concerns to Sales Manager.
• Identify potential customers, solicit business, monitor customers’ enquiries and products requirements and report the finding to the Sales Manager
• Introduce new products to clients and investigate any needs that are not being satisfied and note customer's specific requirements; ensure that you give feedback to the Sales Manager for action to be taken
• Prepare daily sales reports and submit to the Sales Manager
• Continually monitoring of the market trends, competitor activities and report to the Sales Manager for action.
• Adherence of route/ journey plans and ensures all customers on the designated route all served well.
• Ensure DSR,WSR and occurrence book are filled and signed on a daily basis
• Ensure that the company does not incur any losses through shortages, leakers and breakages; in case of such matters arises, it must be highlighted to the respective individual as soon as possible
• Ensure that all brands are loaded into the vehicle as per the loading plans for the next day. The loading MUST be done in the evening such that the following day the distribution starts as early as possible. Cross checking of the loaded brands must be done early in the morning before departing.
• You MUST create and maintain a good image of the company while out in the field at all time, with the aim of achieving sales above the set targets
• To adhere to the health and safety requirements at work place and also follow the traffic rules while driving, maintain the working conditions of the vehicle and ensure that any defects or mechanical problems are reported as soon as possible.
• Ensure that all the cash received from sales are keep in the safe as required
• Follow the right procedures while making a sales transaction
• Any other duty that may be allocated to you by your supervisor from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• KCE Div IV or KCSE mean grade of D (Plain)
• Diploma or certificate in Sales and Marketing is desirable
• Valid driving license/BCE minimum. (preferably a 10 tonner truck)
• Basic mechanical experience is an added advantage
• Must be well versed with Nairobi and its environs
• 1-2 years experience in a FMCG in the same capacity is necessary
• Experience from distributorship is an added advantage
• Handling cash
• Be a team player.
• Certificate of good conduct.
• Must be between 30 and 40 years of age.
