escalator industry. The company that has operated in Kenya since 1989 is the
dominant player in the country, and the second world wide. Schindler has
enjoyed substantial growth over the least few years, driven by a rapidly
growing construction industry that was not even dented by the global crash of
the mortgage industry. Imminent implementation of the East African Common
Market protocol in July 2010, is expected to further energise the
country’s economy and with it the construction industry. Schindler Limited is seeking to reposition itself so as to take full advantage of this new growth by providing high level technical support to the CEO through the appointment of a technically qualified Executive Assistant.
The roles/ responsibilities: The duties to be assigned to the position holder are wide ranging and will include but not be limited to: conducting research; preparation of technical papers and proposals; carrying out sales visits to potential clients either solely or together with other members of the Schindler team; representing the CEO in key meetings or acting in his place during the CEO’s absence.
Qualifications and other requirements:
Applicants must be holding an honours degree in engineering with five or more
years experience in industry. Essential skills and experience include project
management, proposal development, sound written and oral communication skills,
business management skills and an ability to anticipate problems and generate
innovative solutions and a sales inclination. Highly motivated, ambitious and
self driven individuals are sought. country’s economy and with it the construction industry.
