Human Resource Kenyan Jobs. Reporting to the Project Director, the HR Assistant will assist in building a professional team for the development of a Graduate School of Media and Communication. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, for a period of 12 months, with an option to renew the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare job descriptions and role profiles for various positions
Design and develop advertisements in various publications, newspapers and journals
Screen applications and schedule interviews/assessments of the shortlisted candidates;
Conduct interviews of candidates and make recommendations for selection;
Prepare comparative analysis of salary packages in order to maintain pay equity and develop offer for selected candidates;
Complete joining formalities for newly hired faculty and staff in assigned areas;Design and develop advertisements in various publications, newspapers and journals
Screen applications and schedule interviews/assessments of the shortlisted candidates;
Conduct interviews of candidates and make recommendations for selection;
Prepare comparative analysis of salary packages in order to maintain pay equity and develop offer for selected candidates;
Liaise with Transport, Travel & Housing Department to ensure arrangements are made for out of station prospective employees;
Ensure all recruited employees undergo pre-employment physical examination;
Conduct reference checks prior to any hire;
Assist in the follow up of obtaining work visas and work permits for all expatriate prospective employees of the University;
Manage documentation verification prior to hiring of new employees.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Degree in Social Sciences with a Diploma in Human Resources. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a busy HR department and proficiency in all MS Office packages. S/he should have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills; be able to work under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
