Electrical Engineer Kenyan Jobs.

The role holder will play a key role in providing technical support towards development of manufacturing strategy. S/he will also be responsible for the business compliance with all legislation on electrical standards, management of projects and human resource. 
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Provide key technical input to the manufacturing strategy and support in reviewing of strategic goals and assist the leadership team with information to prioritise projects.

o Asset Management & Replacement: Coordinates electrical fixed assets register & replacement policy through life cycle costing.
o Responsible for the design, management & implementation of electrical projects (including oversight on third party contracts).
o Prepare guidelines and key inputs into the business electrical revenue & capital budgets and determine annual estimates based on the organisation’s strategic plans.
o Lead the preparation of tender documents for third party electrical services/supplies including engaging, assessing & maintaining a list of approved electrical Engineering contractors & consultants.
o Lead technology changes & review on all electrical designs and facilities in order to gain business competitive advantage over the competitors
o Submit technical reports to Energy Regulator Commission & Kenya Power & Lightning Co. Ltd.
o Manage power generation mix & facilities by managing power generation, transmission, distribution & installations facilities.
o Prepare & enforce preventive maintenance programmes of electrical facilities and Establish & maintain all electrical materials/spares & instrumentation specifications. 
o Responsible for staffing, performance management, coaching, motivation, training & developing of staff as well as training staff on TPM implementation and provision of support where necessary.
o Lead the Energy management team in the business and oversee the preparation and implementation of the Energy Action plan.
o Responsible for productivity improvement on electricity and support installation of new processes & machinery within the business.
o Implement Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) recommendations on Electrical Safety.
o Provide input into the change management strategy of the company
o Liaise with the administration department in renewal of business permits/licenses, compliance inspections, equipment calibration, submission of installation certificates.
o Directly responsible for managing the private power stations and coordinating maintenance of all electrical installations.
QUALIFICATIONS
o A graduate Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Electrical Technology engineering.
o Should have wide experience on High & Low Voltage systems, power generation, transmission, distribution & installations.
o MUST have thorough knowledge of Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) wiring regulations.
o Registered at Professional level with Kenya Engineers Registration Board, a MUST.
o Licensed electrician Class A1 with Energy regulatory Commission (Formerly Electricity Regulatory Board).
o 8 years practical experience working with a power generating company
o Experience working with Industrial Power Producers (IPP’s) is a must.
