We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the application of recognized accounting principles and procedures to ensure sound financial management of the TS East Africa region, deliver accurate and timely financial information and appropriate accounting controls to safeguard company assets.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and appropriate accounting and control of all Revenues, Expenditures and other Financial transactions in accordance with company policies
Prepare financial statements and reports to meet the published Finance timetable, reporting on key variances from plan
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted International Accounting policies and procedures
Manage and control all Regional Budget and Forecasting activities
Lead the Regional financial Audit programme, liaising with company Auditors
Lead and manage appropriate Compliance programmes, ensuring all Regional Taxation and Regulatory issues are effectively covered
Develop and maintain Regional financial systems in conjunction with Group FC
Plan, prepare and effectively manage the Regional Financial Audit
Continuously develop and improve all systems and processes
Mentor the personal and professional development of the Regional Accountant
Skills and Requirements
Essential:
Accounting qualification and relevant degree, or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years post-degree or qualification experience in a similar role
Experience of IFRS, and accepted accounting principles
Knowledge of applicable legal and taxation regulations
Knowledge and experience of relevant computer applications
Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency in solving problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as well as the ability to communicate in local languages
Desirable:
Previous experience in Inventory control, or a distribution-based business
Departmental/ Project accounting experience
Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
Experience in high growth commercial enterprises
Ability to add value in terms of Financial reporting
