The Aptitude Test: Various types. (Cont'd)

In our current series where we are tackling the topic on aptitude tests, we have today decided to share the various types of these tests. You need to consider that these days almost every employer uses these tests. Actually, it is estimated that psychometric assessments are given by approximately 65% of employers to find the best candidates for jobs. Work experience and longevity on a job are no longer the only considerations an employer uses when looking for a potential employee. Assessments are believed to be accurate indicators of future job performance.

You need also to know that there are two broad categories under which we classify these tests. In general there are known as
psychometric tests. We go further and classify them into two distinct parts: aptitude tests and personality assessments. For now, I want us to concentrate on the first part of the psychometric tests and give you the various types of the aptitude tests that you can face as a candidate. Aptitude tests assess an individual's verbal and numerical abilities as well as abstract reasoning capabilities. (Refer to the types of question from our earlier article on aptitude tests.) These tests are always multiple choices with definite right or wrong answers. They are also timed tests.
