In today’s daily nation
Early this year, Engineers Registration Board (ERB) Kenya gave students from Egerton, Kenyatta, and Masinde Muliro universities in Kenya a surprise when they said they wouldn’t recognize their engineering degrees.
By so doing, ERB warned that such university degrees would not be recognized anywhere else in the world either. The revelation plunged the future of the aspiring engineering students into uncertainty.
The graduates from Egerton then embarked on petitioning the Kenyan government through the Ministry of Higher Education, to have their degrees recognised. The outcome of the petition is yet to be known.
A similar fate has befallen law students from some public and private universities in Kenya, creating anxiety.
