Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Sales, the Sales Development Manager will be responsible for Sales development in Rwanda and Burundi .S/he will lead the Sales team to achieve the set Business objectives as well as ensure effective and professional relationship with Agent Sales Team. Key Performance Indicators will include product demand generation, execution of business plans and achievement of country sales volumes.
Responsibilities
Lead the achievement of the area / region sales volumes and effective implementation of channel and sales plans by adapting the head office business plan to the region;
Develop the region sales forecast and ensure channel core distribution, coverage and visibility objectives are met;
Develop good commercial relationships and work closely with the Customers/Distributors to maximize opportunities and tailor solutions to needs in the country;
Formulate route to market design and oversee effective and timely deployment of all trade /Consumer activities in the targeted channels.
Manage and controll the Cost of Doing Business in the country as well as justify field resource requirements;
Recruit , develop and manage distributors;
Monitor sales in the market and underttake market anaysis to ensure targets and objectives are met;
Handle customer/shopper/consumer complaints and enquiries with the support of Consumer Services in the Regional Office in Kenya;
Ensure optimal availability of products over long and short term in line with sales requirements through liaison with departments;
Liaise with Finance and Supply Chain for optimal pricing and product availability.

Requirements
University Degree in a Sales or Marketing field from a recognized university;
7 years commercial experience in Sales & Marketing, preferably with an FMCG background;
Strong commercial understanding with good knowledge in distributor and shopper management;
Excellent analytical & strategic thinking abilities;
Demonstrable experience in execution of business plans and analysis of sales;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills ;
A proven team player with creative problem solving skills;
Good understanding and experience working in the Rwandan Market;
