Sirikwa Dairies and General Limited (SDGL) whose offices are in Ziwa Sirikwa trading centre, Sirikwa division, Eldoret West district is a farmer owned business enterprise seeking to improve the livelihoods of dairy farmers by establishing a milk collection, bulking, cooling and marketing facility among other services.
SDGL is working with a consortium Non-Governmental Organizations working as East Africa Dairy Development (EADD). EADD is a Heifer International program being implemented in partnership with Technoserve, ABS, ILRI and ICRAF in three East African countries (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania) and seeking for young dynamic persons for extension manager position.
Qualifications.
Graduate (degree or Diploma) in either Animal production, Agricultural Education and Extension, Range management or a related field.
Computer literate,
Graduate (degree or Diploma) in either Animal production, Agricultural Education and Extension, Range management or a related field.
Computer literate,
Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
Team building and good leadership skills.
Strong persuasive skill and aggressive in achieving results.
Self motivated.
Experience in community work/training will be an added advantage.
Roles and responsibilities:-
Supervise and coordinate extension activities on within the cooler site.
Develop training work plan among per site in collaboration with government and other stake holders
Keep all the farmers and animal data in a database at the cooler site.
Monitor and facilitate animal health and breeding practices to farmers within cooler.
Coordinate cattle registration and harmonizing tagging codes and numbers.
Coordinate farmers exchange tours in liaison with Chilling plant and East Africa Dairy Development.
Reporting to CP, EADD and stakeholders.
