Main Purpose of the job
Manage the company’s reputation and position the company line with business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
* Identify strategic PR opportunities both internally and externally for reviews and implementation in PR plan.
* Manage delivery by PR agency of the approved PR plan.
* Coordinate journalist queries and interviews
* Prepare / coordinate review of company response to situations that may attract (or are in the media domain).
* Conduct weekly reviews with PR agency to ensure closure of activities.* Identify strategic PR opportunities both internally and externally for reviews and implementation in PR plan.
* Manage delivery by PR agency of the approved PR plan.
* Coordinate journalist queries and interviews
* Prepare / coordinate review of company response to situations that may attract (or are in the media domain).
* Crisis and Situations management in line with company policy e.g. manage interface with PR agency including journalists at site in case of an incident.
* Enhance relationship with media through own (and facilitated for company executives) relationship building program with journalists, editors and other stakeholders.
* Implement events aimed at generating publicity
* Setting up/coordinating meetings and interviews with media in liaison with PR agency
* Inter-phase with internal communications manager
* Coordinate monthly reviews with agency
* Monthly payments
* Implement CSR plan
* Budget control
Qualifications, skills and experience required
o Delivery of CSR program and objectives
o Working within budget
o Weekly & Monthly
o Delivery of PR objectives.
o Delivery of activities:
o Graduate preferably with relevant certificates in journalism, communication.
o Hands on experience in PR management for an active sector with demonstrable results and inter-phase with media at all levels
o Confident, professional, presentable corporate outlook with good written and spoken English & attention to detail.
o Demonstrable ability to network
o Thrives in challenges, able to respond within short notices and also work long hours including weekends when duty calls
o Ability to meet deadlines
o Ability to work in diverse environment, team player.
