Position: I.T Executive Officer (Mombasa)
Company profile: Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of edible oils, fat and laundry bar soap in the region. Their products command a large share of not only the Kenyan but the COMESA market as well.
Key Responsibilities -
* Maintain, develop and administer enterprise server and network resources
* Consult with and advise management on installation of new hardware and system enhancements and issues
* Implement and administer change control policy to protect vital network components
* Implement and maintain network and server resources including software upgrades and patch management.
* Analyze network traffic patterns and make recommendations to optimize network usage
* Maintain user network accounts pertaining to Active Directory and Windows server systems
* Manage server system backup and restore operations and schedules* Maintain, develop and administer enterprise server and network resources
* Consult with and advise management on installation of new hardware and system enhancements and issues
* Implement and administer change control policy to protect vital network components
* Implement and maintain network and server resources including software upgrades and patch management.
* Analyze network traffic patterns and make recommendations to optimize network usage
* Maintain user network accounts pertaining to Active Directory and Windows server systems
* Work with internal customers and develop reports on performance, capacity, usage, and cost
* Develop, implement and maintain a backup and disaster recovery process
* Maintain user account information including email, rights, security and system groups
* Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot network and server security, including file/folder permissions and enterprise anti-virus system
Qualifications and Experience
* A bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
* 3 to 5 years system administration experience in a production environment
* Demonstrated abilities performing Windows server configuration and administration, network administration and SAN administration
* Demonstrated abilities administering Active Directory, Exchange and backup software
* Experience working with Windows clustering, VMWare, and Storage Area Networks a must
* Solid understanding of client/server systems and protocols
* Experience with system management and troubleshooting tools
* Basic switching and routing skills
* Firewall and VPN setup and functionality
* Experience with SharePoint helpful
* Good written and verbal communications skills
* Strong organization skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to influence and suggest process and technology improvements at all levels of the organization
